Letter to Patrice Brisebois
Sep 30th
Tomorrow the 2009-2010 season begins and I feel as though I’m shifting gears just a little bit with this as lot’s of stuff is already brewing before the season has begun. But this was something that I wanted to write. I wanted to write this as a letter from a longtime Habs fan to a longtime Habs player.
Here’s my letter to you Mr Brisebois:

Season just about on and some last cuts made
Sep 29th
As I write this there is 2 more sleeps before the new 2009-2010 season opens with the Montreal Canadiens facing the Toronto Maple Leafs. I’ve been waiting for this long enough to qualify me as a slightly obsessed fan.
Jacques Martin has made some more cuts and now we have the team or roster together that will start the year.
The cuts that were made today were Ben Maxwell, Tom Pyatt, Yannick Weber, Mathieu Carle and Curtis Sanford.

Player feature : Max Pacioretty – Future File
Sep 27th
Great little feature on Sportsnet on Max Pacioretty.
There’s not really much to the video as it’s only about 50 seconds long… but it basically highlights that he is a top prospect and is a young, big strong forward that could have a big role on the club in coming years.
Enjoy!
Montreal Canadiens vs Buffalo Sabres game highlights
Sep 27th
Last nights game against the Sabres was the only pre-season game I didn’t manage to see. Usually when I’ve got other things to do I’ve still got a curiosity on the score…. and the desire to watch the game of coure.
So last night I did a bit of peeking on Twitter to get some updates in between sets. Maybe I should explain a bit… I wasn’t playing tennis… I was in fact sitting in with a local band for a couple of nights and was playing some drums.
Anyways, very happy to hear the Habs won and here are the game highlights from Sportsnet.
Bob McKenzie’s 6 cities in 6 days : The Montreal Canadiens
Sep 25th
Bob McKenzie of TSN has a series called “6 cities in 6 days” where he covers all the Canadian NHL teams, talks about their changes and where he sees the team going.
McKenzie believes “the Price had better be right” in Montreal this year. Bob also mentions the many changes in the team’s roster this year and that it’s anyone’s guess just how much success they’ll have… an interesting remark however is that he references the Carolina Hurricanes Stanley cup run, saying the team could resemble that team in the sense that the team could be better then the sum of it’s parts. (At least, that’s how I remember him saying it!)
If you haven’t see his analysis of the Canadiens, you can view it here.
