He is a smiler... for sure.

But I'm really thinking that he wasn't used properly last season. Even if he would have been healthy, I don't think Carbo would have used him like I think Martin will.

Gainey went out to get him because he certainly fills a need.... a need that Gainey perceived. But I remember Carbo giving comments last season that he didn't believe they needed a guy to play that role.

I think Jacques Martin will want to have several types of players at his disposal.... guys who can rough it up.... Martin used guys like Neil (in Ottawa), Chara, Hnidy, Simpson....

I'll admit, I've been a fan of Laraque's ever since his days in Edmonton.... I remember seeing him skate down the ice taking 3 big hits by 3 different players and they just bounced off him as he skated with the puck (in a playoff series vs Dallas years back)....

I'm REALLY hoping Laraque successfully puts last season behind him. If would be a good story.... and besides, it would be awesome.

I like Moen alot... and Stewart.... and if Laraque plays with a little more nasty-ness.... add Gill and Mara.... possibly Shawn Belle (a longshot but he possesses a strong body and responsible Defensive play) ... we (the Habs) will be alot tougher to play against physically then anyone has given us credit for.

I'm the first to admit I think Georges has been a washout so far in a Habs jersey. I'd appreciate him much more if I saw some rage in his eyes, but he's a smiler. He's also injury-plagued. Maybe he'll look different this year but I'm not holding my breath. I'll be watching Greg Stewart and Mara and the boys do the dirty work instead. If Georges could contribute even just a little bit, I'd be happier.
