So the season is almost with us! Last night was the first of 5 pre-season games in 5 nights for the Montreal Canadiens.

There were some nice things happening last night. The Gomez – Cammalleri – Kostitsyn line seemed to dominate when they were on the ice last night and although it’s just pre-season it’s always good to see positives!

Having Gomez and Cammalleri (who also had an assist on the Gomez goal) each score in their first games at the Bell Center in the Habs uniform was good… to get that out of the way. Spacek also had an assist in that first game (also on the Gomez goal) so having 3 of your UFA acquisitions get points in their first games in the Habs uniform is encouraging.

Does it mean anything yet?? No, not really… but at least they get off to the good start.

I’m also glad that D’Agostini netted a goal. Not sure how much uncertainty there has been around him making the lineup but seeing that he’s got a great shot and is a goal scorer I’m hoping he plays well… earns a spot and has a strong season.

Habs hockey is back in 2009/2010!
