Habs Rookie Camps – Season Prelude!
Sep 13th
Many of you, well if you’re anything like me, are anticipating the beginning of training camp. I really can’t say it enough.. but I’m looking forward to Habs hockey. Bigtime.
A prelude to the training camp and pre-season is the Rookie Camps.
Thanks to the Montreal Gazette we can even see clips on YouTube. Yeah I know, they’re probably not the only ones.
Once all the pre-season roster is together and they play their first pre-season games I’m usually elated. I love seeing the prospects play in pre-season games. I know some people say the games mean nothing… etc.. etc… But they do mean something.
We get to see the young guys along side the regular roster players. How they handle it, talent level… improvements over last year… etc.. etc..
Can’t wait!
Rookie camp 2009 – Martin thinks young players could play key role
Sep 8th
I’ve said it before and I’ll say it again, just because I mean it. I’m excited for this upcoming season and it’s great to see the reports coming out of the rookie camps. It satisfies part of my desire to see some Habs hockey.
Watching a report on RDS, it’s interesting to listen to Jacques Martin and the RDS analysts. Martin really seems to leave the door open for any number of young players…. from Chipchura, D’Agostini, Pacioretty.. to Maxwell, Latendress, the Kostitsyns, Lapierre… he goes on to say that any number of these young players could have an important role in the Montreal Canadiens lineup this year.

2009 Habs Rookie camp is underway
Sep 7th
The new hockey season is now so very close. If you’re anything like me at this time of the year seeing your favorite hockey jerseys being worn in practice is…. well… satisfying… a bit.
Although it’s just rookie camp every year the veterans are also starting to get warmed up.
I love seeing clips of the young guys going through the drills and catching a glimpse of some future roster players.

There are a few young guys in the Montreal Canadien’s system that fans can look to as cracking the lineup in the next couple of years. One of those guys is P.K. Subban.
Subban posted some nice numbers in the OHL. Last season he had 14 goals and 62 assists for a total of 76 points in 56 games played.

Training camp approaches and rookie camp is announced for 2009
Sep 4th
Here we are in september…. I can almost smell it! Well, not really but you know what I mean.
Ever since the Montreal Canadiens were knocked out of the playoffs last spring I’ve been waiting for training camp.
Well, if I back up a little bit I should say that first my anticipation was focused on the NHL entry draft. Who would they pick?? I was pleased with the draft, I don’t think there are too many scouts who would be considered better than Trevor Timmins.
